The U.K. Trades Confederation (UKTC) was formed in 1995 and has grown in strength ever since.

The Confederation has a strict vetting procedure that all new members have to pass before being allowed to carry the emblems and receive the certificate.  Ongoing vetting is a strong element of the membership criteria and we encourage feedback from our member's customers.

Initially members were drawn from the Construction and Home Improvement sectors. As we have grown and introduced more and more unbeatable membership benefits we have attracted and recruited members from every walk of Industry, Trade, Retail and Commerce.

Membership of UKTC currently numbers over 9,000 small and medium sized business from most trade sectors, which gives us significant strength and a massive buying power.

The membership benefits and services were negotiated and introduced gradually, until by early 1998, most of the core services were in place.   By late 1998, the Confederation was attracting the attention of Retailers because of its Merchant Service rates and Finance packages, and so the Retail Membership was launched.

There are many good trade organisations in the U.K. providing various benefits of membership from specific trade advice to government lobbying.  The UKTC fits into the picture by providing a large range of business benefits & services to help its members Do Business Better.

We have forged many strong associations with major trade and industry bodies including Trading Standards, FENSA, planning departments, Investors in People and ISO 9001 providers among many.

Our aim is to provide members with the benefits and services they want and to provide the Public with a reliable source of professional businesses that they can trade with in confidence.

We look forward to continuing to serve our members and the best interests of their customers.
